If I want to continue with PT sessions after my pain is gone, can I do so?
Yes, treatment is recommended after your pain is gone. At that point, you and your PT can start wo work on returning you to full strength and function. The most advanced results are often achieved once your pain is gone and you start the higher level of strength and functional training. Additionally, once have completed your therapy sessions, your therapist will review your at-home continuing therapy program to ensure that you know how to self treat and maintain the improvements you have made. Also, many patients benefit from continued physical therapy in the clinic once a month or so for a “tune-up”.
